Workshop Description
** NEW GUILDFORD VENUE** Shimmer + Slate: Mixed Media Mosaic (£290) Sat 10th + Sun 11th Jan (If workshop is full please join waiting list or email mosaics@denisejaques.co.uk) Create an original piece of mixed media Slate+Shimmer inspired mosaic artwork for the home or garden. A weekend workshop focusing on an experimental approach to mixed media mosaic using and exploring texture, contrast and using range of materials and techniques. Learn to cut, shape, grout and apply a range of materials including traditional mosaic tesserae, glass, slate and found materials. Day 1: Design Select colour and texture pallette of materials Direct method application, creating shimmer pathways Prepare slate and other found materials Day 2: Grout shimmer pathways Application of slate and other found materials You will be able to select the shape and size of your project and will be suitable for the use for an interior or exterior space. All fixing options will be discussed during the workshop, but please select shape/size when booking as your backing board with fixings will be prepared in advance for you. There will be some spare backing boards if you change your mind on the day. If you have a particular size or shape, please email mosaics@denisejaques.co.uk with your request before 27th Dec. All tools, materials and equipment will be provided. You are welcome to bring any special pieces to incorporate into your mosaic, such as stone, shells, glass, rusted items etc. Not suitable for beginners Suitable for age 16+ Which Shape? At checkout, you will be asked which shape you would like to work on from a suggested list. Don't worry if you are unsure, there will be a variety of options on the day if you change your mind. Full payment will secure your place on a workshop. If for any reason you need to cancel, you will be offered the opportunity to transfer to another workshop (if there is space). Please give as much notice as possible, so that another student may have the opportunity to take your place. There is often a waiting list. If a replacement student is found the charges below will not apply. 26+ days- 100% refund -minus £4 admin charge 25-16 days-75% refund 15-6 days- 50% refund Less than 6 days- 0% refund Please note that venues other than Lockwood, Guildford have their own cancellation policy
