Intro to Mosaic Techniques - 3 week course
Intensive 3 weeks course for beginners and improvers

This is a 3 week intensive course teaching the basic methods and techniques needed to create beautiful, contemporary mosaics for the home and garden.
Methods will include direct, indirect, working on mesh, using traditional and found materials. You will also learn about different backing materials to help you make informed decisions about your future projects.
Through a series of demonstrations, sample projects and homework, you will have the opportunity to learn a range of skills and techniques used to create you own contemporary mosaics.
You will also have the opportunity to receive 1:1 guidance/tutorial on an individual project to work on at home.

Cutting and shaping a variety of different materials.
Preparation of substrates
Selecting appropriate materials
Health and Safety
Week 2:
Application methods for 2D and 3D projects
Direct and Indirect samples
Week 3:
Grouting
Fixings
Finishing touches

Thursday Mosaics: Intermediate/ Advance
Once a month
Basic tools and equipment will be provided for use in workshop.
Materials supplied for completing samples.
Materials not included for individual project, but advice and guidance given.
Refreshments provided, but please bring a packed lunch.
Kitchen available with fridge/ microwave/ toaster/kettle etc.
